ADP Architects, Newcastle came to us with an exciting project to come up with a design to help reduce the glare in the new stairwell area of the new maths and science block extension at St Wilfrid's RC College in South Shields.
Three designs were presented by our in-house design team and the above design was chosen and developed working alongside the school to achieve the graphics pictured above.
Certain areas of the glazing required total blocking out so the design was printed onto white vinyl for these areas and the rest was printed onto optically clear safety window film. It was very tricky to apply each panel so the design flowed across all the panes and also in the blowing coastal winds, but I hope you'll agree that we did an excellent job! The design above was replicated and printed onto vinyl for the entrance area and elements of the design picked out and used as manifestation for the glass doors and glazed internal panels.
